Why do IP data JSONL and CSV files have different sizes?

Certain JSONL and CSV files have different sizes, as is the case for the below IP Geolocation Database files:

latest.gz – latest geolocation database in JSON format
latest.csv.gz – latest geolocation database in CSV format

JSON files contain more symbols, which leads to bigger file sizes.
